How to add colour to paper textures
The Paper Box is a great resource to have on hand, packed full of various paper textures perfect for just about any project!
In this tutorial you'll learn how to add colour to the paper texture so you can customise the look to suit your artwork.
- 1
- To add colour to your paper texture first create a shape with the colour you want.
- 2
- Duplicate the shape and keep it in the same position above the colour shape and fill that shape with one of the paper textures.
- 3
- Depending on your software, you now need to set your paper texture shape to transparency blend mode "multiply". You'll find this in your layers panel in Adobe Photoshop or in the Transparency panel in Adobe Illustrator.
- 4
- This will create an overlay effect of the paper texture and your colour will now show through. You can also play with the opacity of the paper texture to achieve the results you need for your project.
